Try Wait
Try Wait is an effort to reverse the declines we observed, so that we can manage from a place of abundance, rather than depletion.
Today we sacrifice, so that the future generations can be fed.

Process to develop a Fisheries Management Plan
Our Goal
To return productive and sustainable subsistence fishing to our home
The intention of Try Wait was to replenish our fisheries stocks, so that we can reopen fishing from a place of abundance and with a sustainable fisheries plan in place.
For many years we have been deliberating on what the fisheries plan should include, and through thoughtful discussion with our fishing ʻohana, the State Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR) and Division of Conservation and Resource Enforcement (DOCARE), and partners, we have drafted our ideas for your feedback.
We will integrate the feedback we receive before the fisheries plan is submitted to the State for approval.
Our process to draft a fisheries management plan included these decision making principles to guide us.
We are integrating feedback received during our outreach and from the survey below, and will share an updated Fisheries Management Plan soon!
Mahalo for sharing your feedback!
